Estero Bluffs State Park Trail

Trailhead Location-On Highway 1 from downtown Cayucos go 1.7 miles north to  San Geronimo Rd. and park in the big dirt pullout on the west side of the road which is the southern access to Estero Bluffs. There are several more trailheads with the next trailhead 1 mile north of San Geronimo Rd. and another 2 1/2 miles north of San Geronimo Rd.

Estero Bluffs State Park is on 355 acres of land at the northern end of Estero Bay between Cayucos and Villa Creek.

Estero Bluffs State Park North Trail

Trailhead Location-On Highway 1 from downtown Cayucos drive 3.1 miles to the parking pullout on the side of the road and the trailhead.

Estero Bluffs state Park is on 355 acres of land. Enjoy great marine life viewing from the trail.

Whale Rock Reservoir Trail

Trailhead Location-From downtown Cayucos (13th St.) on Highway 1 drive 1.1 miles south to Old Creek Road-turn left onto Old Creek Rd. for 1.5 miles to Whale Rock Reservoir, parking is on the left just before the PG&E substation. An entrance fee is required.

This is a 1350 acre reservoir built in 1961 in the hills above Cayucos for drinking water. A trail on the eastern side of the lake makes for a scenic hike and picnic.

Hang Glider Hill Trail

Trailhead Location-from Highway 1 and 13th St. in Cayucos drive south on Highway 1 for 1.4 miles-turn left onto Ocean Blvd.-right onto Haines Ave.-right onto Davies Ave. that turns into Chaney Ave. and continue straight up the hill to the dirt road and park. Room for about 5 cars to park in the residential neighborhood.

Hang Glider Hill is a popular place to launch hang gliders and has panoramic views of the ocean from Cayucos to Morro Bay. A fun thing to do is watch the hang gliders take off and glide over the hillsides.

Harmony Headlands State Park Trail

Trailhead Location-On Highway 1 from downtown Cayucos (13th St.) drive 6.8 miles north to the parking lot sign on the left. Parking fee required.

From Cambria (from Ardath Rd.)drive 6.8 miles south on Highway 1 to the parking lot sign on the right. Parking fee required.

Once a cattle ranch called Sea West Ranch on 784 acres since the 1800's it was bought in 2003 by the American Land Conservancy and deeded to the California State Park system and renamed Harmony Headlands State Park and opened to the public in 2008. Located between Cayucos and Harmony the trail goes by the historic ranch house and along coastal bluffs with scenic views of the ocean.
